Shipping and Returns

Shipping Method:
  • Orders are sent either via Australia Post or Fastaway Couriers. 
  • We will assess which option is more cost effective based on the weight and dimensions of your parcel. 
  • We are not open for local pickups.
  • If you have a PO Box as your shipping address, your order will be sent via Australia Post only, but please note there maybe extra shipping charges, see below under extra shipping info. 
  • We prefer you provide us with a residential address rather than a PO Box, as the Courier will not deliver to PO Box addresses and in most cases sending parcels via Courier is more cost effective.
  • If you provide us with a business address, please also include the business name at checkout. 
  • Authority to Leave (ATL) - All parcels sent via Fastway Courier will need to be signed for. If you are not home a calling card will be left in your mail box. If you would like your parcel left on your property, then please leave a note under the "Comments" section of the Checkout page that you want your parcel left and where. E.g Leave parcel at front door. 
  • If you request your parcel to be left without a signature you automatically indemnify Parrot Rescue Centre, Australia Post, Fastway and its Courier Franchisee against any claim for loss and / or damage relating to any freight item left.
  • If we send your order via Australia Post then a signature will not be required. 
Shipping Cost:
  • $11.95 Flat Rate Shipping Australia wide - This flat rate shipping charge will cover the majority of orders, but there are additional shipping charges for some circumstances, see below. 

Extra Shipping charges:

  • Parrot FOOD & NATIVE PODS ordered exceeding 4.8kg in weight to some areas. 
      • These extra charges are for areas within WA, NT & TAS and all RURAL & REMOTE areas of QLD, NSW, VIC & SA.
      • These charges only apply if you are within the above areas and have ordered over 4.8kg of Bird Food or Native Pods (pellets, nuts, seeds, gumnuts, banksias, casuarinas etc.) in your order. PLEASE NOTE: some pre packed bags, such as pellets & seed may weigh over the advertised weight by 100grams, so please account for that when ordering your food.
      • Areas that are NOT affected are all metro areas of QLD, NSW, VIC & SA. If you are in these areas and not classed as a Remote or Rural area there is NO additional shipping charge unless you exceed 20kg of food/pods. 
      • Extra postage charges are NOT calculated at checkout; they will be invoiced & charged separately once we receive your order. We will email you with further payment info once we receive your order.
      • The extra postage charge may take up to 24 hours (Monday to Friday) to be emailed after you submit your order. 
      • This extra shipping charge will include the weight of other products you have ordered.
      • We will try to keep these extra charges as cheap as possible, by sending your order via the most cost effective shipping method. For example to Rural/Remote areas, WA, NT & TAS it will be a cheaper option to pack your order into 3kg or 5kg Satchels rather than sending a box. 
      • The extra shipping charge will be the total of what we are charged by the shipping company take the flat rate charge you pay when you process your order. Cost to most areas will vary roughly between $15 to $20 for an additional 3 to 5kg in food/pods. Cost varies depending on distance from SE QLD.

      • We hope to have a shipping calculator integrated into our shop by 2019, so that these extra charges are calculated at checkout, but in the meantime we appreciate your patience. 
  • PO BOX (Includes PMB, Parcel Collect or any Australia Post collect facility boxes) 
    • We prefer you provide us with a residential address rather than a PO Box, as Courier is normally a more cost effective way to ship. 
    • We understand some of you are in Rural areas, so can only provide a PO Box address.
    • If you do provide us with a PO Box your order will be packed into either a 500g, 3kg or 5kg prepaid satchel. If your order doesnt fit the maximum size 5kg satchel (including food/toys) there maybe extra shipping charges, depending on the extra weight and your location. 
    • Cost will genearlly vary between $10 & $20 for an additional 3 to 5kg of products.
    • We will contact you via email after we receive your order if we require extra shipping. 
  • Products with Extra shipping Message
    • Some larger products may state on the product description that extra shipping charges apply, such as the Pet Crate, Play Towers, Chipsi etc. 
    • The same shipping info above under Extra shipping charges applys to these items also. 
    • We will contact you via email after we receive your order for the extra shipping charges or you can contact us prior to purchase to receive a quote. 

Shipping Delivery Time Frame

  • We try to process and ship orders promptly, so your order will normally be processed & shipped within approx 2 business days (between Monday to Friday only) from the date payment is received. E.g. You submit your order on Monday and we will process the order Tuesday and it will ship either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on how busy we are and if we pack your order before courier pickup. 
  • There maybe extra delays during busy pre xmas, newsletter promotions, shop sale periods and for orders received over the weekend. Please allow an extra day for processing. E.g. If placing your order over the weekend, it will ship by Wednesday. 
  • We only ship via Australia Post on selective days each week, so if we are shipping your order via Australia Post your order may not ship on the 2nd buisness day it may leave on the 3rd buisness day from when you procesed your order. 
  • We are CLOSED Saturday and Sundays, so orders will not be processed during that period. 
  • Delivery time to most areas once your parcel leaves here is approx 2 to 5 working days (Monday to Friday)
  • Remote Areas, Rural Areas, Western Australia, Northern Territory & Tasmania may take up to approx 7 to 10 working days (Monday to Friday) Generally if you are more then one hour from a major city, you maybe classed as a Remote area. 
  • If you are in one of these areas and would like to receive your parcel quicker, please contact us via email once you place your order and we can disccuss express shipping options and cost. 
  • Any time frames given for delivery are a guide only. These times may not take into account local public holidays, busy periods or Road delays. Please allow 3 more extra days for delivery in case of transit delay
  • We will send email notifications to you once your order has been Received and Shipped. If there are any delays in shipping we will send you a processing email.
  • Tracking - Once your order has been shipped you will be sent an email shipment confirmation that will include your tracking number and website link. There maybe limited info provided on the tracking link to remote & rural areas, so if you would like more info on the tracking of your parcel please contact us on the contact us link below.
  • Contact us if you have not received your Order confirmation email after submitting your order. It might be that your email was entered incorrectly at checkout. 
  • Contact us if you have not received your parcel after 5 working days from when your shipping confirmation email was received. (Days will depend on distance from SE QLD, as mentioned above Remote, Rural, WA & NT may take up to approx 10 working days, please allow an extra 3 days for transit delays)
  • Please note there will be delays in processing/shipping orders during public holiday periods and our closed periods during Xmas & January, so the standard times given above may not be applicable during these times. 

International Shipping

  • All International orders need to be emailed to
  • Please add your items to the shopping cart and copy and paste the cart into the email.
  • Once we receive your email we will provide you shipping quote options. 
  • Shipping will take from approx 3 to 10 working days (Monday to Friday) 
  • If you want to proceed once we have provided you a shipping quote, we will then send you a PayPal invoice for payment via Credit card (you do NOT need a PayPal account to process this payment)
  • There are restrictions in certain countries with what can be imported for example we cannot ship any of the Natural timber products, gum nuts, Banksia nuts and Food into the US, due to Import restrictions on plant/wood/food products. 
  • There maybe extra duty/taxes that need to be paid to customs once your order arrives in your country. These charges are not included in our price, so you will need to pay this extra charge once your order arrives in your country. 

Return Policy:

Customers are offered a 14 day money back guarantee on all internet purchases from the PRC Shop. The 14-day period commences upon the submission of your order, and Parrot Rescue Centre must be notified by email of your intention to return the product before the conclusion of this period. The customer will bear the cost of freight for the return, and goods must be received undamaged and in original condition before a refund will be issued. Items that have been used or un packaged will not be refunded. There are NO returns on Sale items. 

Damaged Stock:

If you have received products that are faulty or damaged we must be notified within 3 days of receiving the goods by email or phone. Depending on the product you will be either asked to send photos or post the items back to us unused. Once we receive the goods we will send a replacement. We cannot replace products that have been used.

Missing Package:

You will receive a shipping confirmation email within 2 business days of processing your order. Once your order has been shipped it should not take any longer than 5 working days (7 to 10 working days to some areas, see above under delivery time). If you have been waiting longer than that period please contact us by email or phone so we can do a search for your package.

Missing or Wrong Items:

If you have received your package and there are missing or incorrect items please contact us immediately by email or phone so that we can rectify the error.
