Captive
Bird Sanctuary Placement Services
In some instances it is not appropriate — or desirable —
to place a bird into a private home through adoption. In these cases,
sanctuary placement insures a permanent, stable, life-long home.
Sanctuary Placement is also a good option for
when you are unable to care for your parrot no longer due to death
or disability. You need to consult with your attorney to include
this in your estate documents, that you give your parrot to the
Parrot Rescue Centre, along with a bequest sufficient to cover the
housing, food, and veterinary care of the parrot/s. |
Example
of statement left in estate document |
| “I leave any parrots
which I may own at the time of my death to the Parrot Rescue Centre,
Po Box 797, Mudgeeraba QLD, 4213 together with the sum of $_________
or __________% of my estate, to be used by it for the care and maintenance
of my parrot. In the event that there be monies remaining out of the
$_____________ or _________ % of my estate, after the last of any
pets to die, such balance shall pass outright and free of trust to______________. |

What Are Captive
Bird Sanctuaries Like? |
A Sanctuary is a place
where animals can come to live and be protected for the rest of
their lives. It’s a safe haven, where they receive the very
best care possible. Animals are not bought, sold, traded, or mistreated
in any way that is part of the Parrot Rescue Centre. They are given
every opportunity to behave naturally in a wonderfully loving environment.
At our sanctuary we always put the animal’s best interest
in from to our own and always remember they are the reason why we
are here.
The population in the Parrot Rescue Centres sanctuary
setting is diverse. It may consist of retired breeders, birds with
special medical or environmental needs, those with severe behaviour
problems, those who prefer other birds to people, or loving companions
who have outlived or been displaced by the complex and changing
lives of their humans. A sanctuary provides a unique place where
these birds can live life on their own terms |

How Can I Help Sponsor
or place my bird within the Parrot Rescue Centre Bird Sanctuary? |
| Building and operating
a sanctuary is not easy and is definitely not cheap. However to
give the animals the very best environment possible, we have to
be prepared to do whatever it takes to accomplish this goal.
The Parrot Rescue Centre spends a lot of time and resources in doing
what is best for the parrots by ensuring the birds are regularly
vet checked, given fresh food, enrichment, clean aviaries and cages,
providing natural habitats and by building larger encloses.
Such long-term, comprehensive care is very costly and requires the
hard work, dedication, and commitment of very special individuals.
With your help we can continue to provide a high standard of care.
Please help by purchasing toys and assessories from the PRC
Online Store, sponser a parrot through our
Virtual Adoption Program or
Donate Aviary materials and Food
etc . |
