Product Hygiene
The health and safety of your parrots are our number one concern, therefore the PRC manufactures its toys in clean, bird free zone areas. All our toy products are kept in a sealed environment away from all parrots. All natural wood and gumnut products are cleaned and dried before used to make toys and kept in sealed rooms and containers, so that they are not contaminated by wild or pet parrots. We do not re sell returned items or pre loved toys.
Toy Size

Please ensure you always purchase toys that are suitable to the size of your parrot. Some materials that are made for small parrots are easily broken by larger parrots and can cause injury. We do specify in each category which toys suit certain birds, but if your bird is a destroyer like some Macaws and Black Cockatoos, please supervise your parrot when introducing new toys, and ensure they do not harm themselves with broken pieces of plastic or metal etc. Some parrots can be in the small parrot to medium parrot categories due to their strength and interest or from medium to large category. Some parrots are more destructive then others, so we have set up a guide based on destructibility. We recommend that you stick with the Bullet proof and natural toys when it comes to Black Cockatoos. A guide to size of parrot indication list below:

Small Parrots: Lovebirds, Finches, Budgies, Cockatiels, Plum heads, ringnecks, quakers, conures, lorikeets etc
Medium Parrots: Conures, Ringnecks, Quakers, Galahs, Corellas, Amazons, African Greys, Eclectus etc
Large Parrots: Macaws, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Gang Gangs, Black Cockatoos, Major Mitchells.
Toy Materials
All toy parts and toys that are purchased and used by the PRC are of high quality. The PRC does not sell or provide parrots with cheap and dangerous products. We only purchase toys and parts (eg. Stainless steel and Nickel plated qlinks, chain and unwelded rings etc) that are safe, durable and non toxic.
Toy Safety

The greatest care is taken when making the PRC toys to ensure that there safe and non-toxic. Please purchase toys to suit the size of your parrot and also check toy for wear and tear and remove when deteriorating. Here are some basic guidlines:

  • Please ensure that you do not provide toys that are rusty or cheaply made, as your parrot could end up with poisoning or injury.
  • Watch your parrot to make sure that they are not ingesting any of the plastic, rope or metal parts on toys.
  • Rope fibre cannot be digested by parrots, so please ensure that you include other toys for your parrot to chew around perches and toys.
  • If you feel that your parrot is eating the rope fibre then please do not provide them rope toys or perches. Also make sure there are no fibres hanging loose that can cause entanglement of your birds body parts.
  • Please ensure that especially rope toys and products do not cause entanglement, as this can cause amputation of parrots feet and toes etc.
  • Please continually monitor your rope perches and toys to ensure safety.
  • Wood and gumnuts are a safe and digestible product which birds are able to ingest.
  • All wood that is used by the PRC is untreated, so is 100% safe.
  • All food dyes used on the wood parts are 100% safe.
  • All rope used by the PRC including sisal and cotton rope is purchased specially, therefore is untreated. Rope purchased from hardware stores is normally treated.
  • We recommend that only bullet proof or natural toys be provided for black cockatoos, as they have been known to ingest plastic and metal etc, which is not safe.
  • Metal parts should only be made from Nickel plating or Stainless Steel. Please avoid Zinc items as they are toxic to birds.
  • Split key rings that are used to hang toys are dangerous, if the bird splits apart the ring they can get their tongue or toe caught between where it splits. Split key rings should not be used on any bird toys, only unwelded rings are safe when closed tightly

Do you have a parrot toy or accessory which you would like and we do not have listed on our online store, please contact us and let us know, we will try and retrieve the product for you specially. We design and make allot of our toys by hand, so any special designs can be requested.

Safe and secure online payments by Credit Card. You can access this type of payment by using our shopping cart. If you do not have a paypal account you can only pay by visa or mastercard and will not need to sign up with paypal to make your payment. International-Outside of Australia
We ship to countries other than Australia. Freight will depend on the weight of the order, which country you live in and how fast you want it delivered.Note: all our prices are in Australian Dollars ($AUD). Orders outside of Australia must be emailed or faxed, our online store will only process orders within Australia.
Wholesale Purchases
In order to purchase products at wholesale prices you must have a registered company or business name. International customers must have some type of business or company registration certificate. Business paperwork must be in the name of your pet store, aviary, rescue or online store. We need to receive a copy of your certificate for our file. Please click here for mailing or fax details.
 
Shipping and Handling
Postage:
All postage and handling is a one of flat charge of $8.50 per order for postage within Australia only. This is for toys, accessories and food, if food items are ordered and exceed 3kg in weight additional charges apply, see below
Postage for Food
  • Orders that exceed the weight of 3kg through Food purchases, will be charged additional postage.
  • Postage will be calculated based on the total food weight once you have reached over 3kg.
  • Under 3kg of food has no additional postage charge.
  • You will be sent an additional paypal invoice to your email after we have recieved your order to confirm the extra postage amount.
  • If you are only purchasing toys or accessories and no food items this extra fee does not apply.
  • The weight is only based on the food weight in your order not toys or accessories weight.
  • Postage does not normally exceed $30 unless bulk amounts of 10kg and over are purchased.
  • We only charge normal Australia Post prices, which is per weight and distance.
  • If ordering Bulk amounts of food or ordering cages and playgyms that exceed the weight of 20kg, normal courier charges will apply. This postage charge will be calculated after we have received your order.

These are examples of postage charges for food purchases that exceed 3kg.

Basic Charges for 3kg to 20kg

  • Flat rate of $7.45 for QLD plus a charge depending on distance from Brisbane will be either .40c to $1.00 etc per kilo
  • For interstate out of QLD is a flat rate of $9.40 plus distance charged per kg will vary between .60c to $3.00
  • The further distance away from QLD you are the more the charge is per kilo.

Calculating Postage for Food Purchases

  • Enter the total amount of weight that your food items come to, weight of any toys or accessories does not have to be included.
  • Dimensions are not required, just click cancel when prompted for dimensions and it will still calculate your charge.
  • The postage amount that your order costs additionally in weight will be charged after we receive your order, the PRC has not yet integrated this into the checkout section.

Delivery Time:
  • Our products are delivered promptly.
  • Delivery time to most areas is 3-5 working days.
  • The PRC will send a notification email to you once your parcel has been sent.
  • Please contact us if you have not received your parcel or email from the PRC after 5 working days.
  • The Parrot Rescue Centre takes care in sending its products, but will not be held responsible for anything lost or damaged in transit.
  • All orders over $250 will be sent by registered post, there is no additional charge for this.

Return Policy:
Customers are offered a 14 day money back guarantee on all internet purchases from the PRC Shop. The 14-day period commences upon the submission of your order, and Parrot Rescue Centre must be notified by email or phone of your intention to return the product before the conclusion of this period. The customer will bear the cost of freight for the return, and goods must be received undamaged and in original condition before a refund will be issued. Items that have been used or un packaged will not be refunded.
Damaged Stock:
If you have received products that are faulty or damaged we must be notified within 3 days of receiving the goods by email or phone. You will be asked to post the items back to us unused and once we receive the goods we will send a replacement. We cannot replace products that have been used.
Missing Package:
You will receive an email from us confirming the postage of your order within 48 hours of you processing your order. Once your order has been posted it should not take any longer then 5 working days. If you have been waiting longer than that period please contact us by email or phone so we can do a search for your package.
Missing or Wrong Items:
If you have received your package and there are missing or incorrect items please contact us immediately by email or phone so that we can rectify the error.
Pricing:
Prices of goods shown on our Parrot Rescue Centre web site are inclusive. There is only a one off additional charge of $8.50 for postage when you checkout. If you order food weighing over 3 kg there will be additional postage charges. Please see above under Shipping and Handling for more information.
Privacy Policy:      
Through our payment process you will be asked to give information about yourself. This information is only collected for the accurate delivery of orders and is not kept in our system. Membership signup is for us to maintain contact with you regarding the site. You have the options to opt out of our mailing list at any time. All of this information is not given, loaned or sold to any other party. All personal details are kept strictly confidential. Any questions regarding your privacy please contact us.
