Jim has been intensively keeping parrots for more than 10 years and during that time has focused on developing an understanding of the behavioural and general care dynamics of parrots kept within companion animal environments

As a parrot behaviour and enrichment consultant he has provided consultative services to hundreds of parrot owners both within Australia and internationally, as well as contributing articles for numerous pet and parrot focused publications. He is a former committee member of the Parrot Society of Australia Inc and has lectured for numerous bird clubs and societies in South-east Queensland.

The foundation of Jim's approach combines his extensive knowledge of wild parrot behaviour with progressive `Applied Behaviour Analysis' management strategies based on `Positive Reinforcement' training and conditioning.
